Win Update KB898461

This WinXp update downloaded but would NOT install. It displays the message
'initializing installation' then proceeds no further, no status bars
displayed.
I am running XP Prof SP2 with extended display over 2 monitors and cordless
MS mouse + keyboard.
Based on other posts in this section it sounds like I don't want it
installed anyway.
