Win Update stuck in loop.

Every night at 3am, my systems installs the same 3 updates from Windows
Update. If I manually install these updates, they seem to install ok (no
errors), but if I reboot and re-run Update, the same 3 updates are queued for
installation again.

How do I get out of this loop?

Thanks for any direction you can provide.

Running Windows XP Home SP2. Also run with various firewall, virus, spam,
and malware protection.

Enjoy!

How to troubleshoot Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are repeatedly offered an
update

Windows Update already installed

Windows Update says the update is still needed

Here is some more data after following the links provided:
1. There are no errors in the update log. But there are some messages that
say Setup Update NOT required for C:\WINDOWS\system32... I do not know if
there is a way to 'attach' a file showing this log.
2. There are no KBxxxxxx.log files in the system log where xxxxxx is one of
the 3 updates being repeated.
3. This one surprized me... The registry I was directed to in one of the
solution methods had no SP2 listed even though My Computer/Properties says I
am running SP2. There is an SP3 and it lists many KBxxxxxx entries, but not
any of the 3 updates being repeated.

I have not found anther direction to try within the links suggested. Some
point to files that are no longer available and some seem to lead me in a
circle. Do the above symptoms help clarify my problem?

Thanks again for your help.
