Win xp Home edition Sp2 - Failed to install

I recently had to redo my system, and when I went to update to SP2, I get a
error with the installation. I ordered the cd in hopes of that will help, but
how can I install this without the errors? I have tried several times to
update and the last error was regedit.ex_ failed to install
