win xp reboot loop after installing updates.

Hi I have a compaq presario that runs winxp2, and everytime I turn on
automatic updates and they download my computer will not load win after it
restarts.. It shows the win deco but willnot load.. it will sometimes
redirect me to the menu with safe start, or last known good configuration-
but it wont load, it just keeps repeating.. Im very frustrated.... help???

There is a very good chance are that you are seeing the affects of a
hijackware infection.

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:

2. Run this online scan (in safe mode w/networking, if need be):

3. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting the requested
logs in an appropriate forum, not here.
