Win XP SP 1- trying to update critical patches

Hello, and thanks in advance for any assistance. I just upgraded a Win2000
computer to Win XP (yes a legal copy). When installing critical updates, I
get to KB835732, which appears to install (no error prompts), but the log
file appears to contain errors (attached below). The file shows up to be
reinstalled almost immediately after I install it. Any suggestions
appreciated.
