Problem:

(a) Wireless Zero Configuration is not appearing after the drivers are
installed for the network adapter during the installation process or any
other time.
(b) There are no "Wireless Connections" appearing in my "Network
Connections" window. Only my Local Area Connection is displayed.
(c) Through problems a and b I am unable to locate and connect to my access
point. Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router (BEFW11S4)

I've contacted both my ISP and Linksys to get some answers but they were
unable to help with my situation and directed me to Microsoft.

Things I know for certain:

(1) Yes, the adapter is connected and the power LED is lit.

(2) Under Device Manager the status of the adapter says that it is running
properly.

(3) I have 2 adapters on-hand and have done a clean install with both. The
result was the same, so it is not a hardware problem with the adapters
themselves.

(4) The Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router (Access Point) has been
successfully installed on my other PC that is also running WinXP SP2. Data
Encryption is disabled and the SSID is set to default. (linksys) The router
is online at all times.

(5) I have installed the drivers from both discs from each of the adapters
and even used the updated drivers from the Linksys website.

(6) All 4 of my USB ports are functional and have had no effect on the
installation of the adapters or any other hardware.

(7) [Task Manager --> Networking Tab] The Linksys Wireless-B USB Network
Adapter v4.0 Packet Scheduler Miniport is present but its state is "Non
Operational".

(8) Wireless Zero Configuration is running and is set to "automatic".
Restarting WZC has no effect, either.

I have no intention of uninstalling Service Pack 2. This seems to be a
solution to some of the problems I've read throughout these discussions, but
I would rather avoid it.

Questions:
How do I get my adapter to show up in my Network Connections?
How do I get Wireless Zero Configuration to activate and recognize my adapter?
Is there a way around these problems without removing Service Pack 2?

OS: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
Adapter: Linksys Wireless-B USB Network Adapter v4.0 (WUSB11v4)
