Win XP SP2 - Delayed Write Failed

Hi, I have a very nagging problem that started last night. I was downloading
a music file, which I had been doing on and off all night with no problems,
when a 'delayed write failed' error message came up. Now everytime I attempt
to download a music file or use the Steam Engine to play Half Life it comes
up and I can't use it.
I'm not on a server, I only have one disk drive, there's no spyware or virus
on my pc, yet I can't seem to correct this error.

As I said above, I'm on XP and running SP2 and have been doing so with no
problems for a good while now. Please help!!

"delayed write" in the help search box gets 15 Knowledge Base hits, one of
which is server. See if an updated driver is available for your graphics
card,
could be. I'd try a restore point and increased initial virtual memory.

Before you post, to avoid getting spammed, change the default (real)
