Win2000 won't update

When I run Windows update, I get a message that says: "The website has
encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view."

I also get a message : [Error number: 0x80072EFF]

What could be the cause of this and what should be done to run Windows
update again?

As a tool to diagnose this problem, when I was running Windows update, a
message appeared whether should I restart Windows now in order to complete
the installation. But when I clicked "OK", there was still a process in
another window that the update was still in progress. So, I think that the
process inside the laptop was still ongoing, and this was affected by my
clicking the "OK" button in the question I said in the previous sentence.
