WIN2003 will not install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 Service Pack 3

I tried doing the automatic update of Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 Service
Pack 3. It dies at the end with an error in the event log that says
"Product: Microsoft .NET Framework (English) -- Error 1706.No valid source
could be found for product Microsoft .NET Framework (English)".

I then ran the executable (NDP1.0sp3-KB867461-X86-Enu.exe) and at the end it
says it can't find the file netfx.msi.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem, and have tried to find a way to fix it. When I run
a file search for the netfx.msi it cannot be found. Where can I get it, and
how do we fix this problem.

Arch,
When I put netfx.msi into the Microsoft search, I got a hit with Article
ID:320474.
It states the resolution is to extract Netfx.msi from Dotnetfx.exe. To do
this , you start with the Windows Component Update CD-ROM, in the
Dotnetframework folder. I don't know where to get this CR-ROM. Any ideas?
