I have been tasked with taking our SQL 2008 stand alone instance to a
cluster. The server this currently resides on needs to be one of the nodes
in the final cluster setup. My approach has been to setup a single node
cluster on a second box (exact same hardware), move the databases to this
server and bring them online, then bring the original server into the cluster
as the second node. This should work, correct? Is there an easier way I'm
missing or is that sound like the best way?

Thanks for any advice.

I am sure you are going to re-install SQL Server 2008 because in cluster SQL
has to be cluster aware.
Correct me if I am wrong.

thanks
