Hi,
This is related to updates which i downloaded on my online Windows 2003
based servers. As download installation completed,my servers went off giving
the following errors:
1, win32:Access is denied.
2, You do not have the rights.

I was not even able to the access my diskmanagement and backup utilities.

Finally i removed the same updates (October-2005),and my problem was
solved-Thank God

Kindly help how i will update my server.

Ajay

Hello,

This is a DCOM (COM+) bug. I have renamed C:\WINDOWS\Registration and
deleted the Registry node at HKLM\...\Software\Microsoft\COM3 and ran the
Add/Remove Wizard for Windows components. This fixed the symptoms and MS core
services ran again; however, after the next reboot the problem is back.

Microsoft is being silent about this problem. The only fix I have found on
the Web is to uninstall the offending patch. No one seems to know which
patch, though, so they uninstall the most recent batch of patches they have
installed. It occurs on some Server 2003 computers but not on most.

Hope this helps get Microsoft working on the fix.

Do you have a reference for those instructions?
Notice they are similar but without the first two steps of these:

<title>KB315296 - How to clean up a damaged COM+ catalog</title>

(MSKB Advanced search for
com3 registry
)

Good luck
