Computer went to sleep mode during Windows Update install two weeks ago.
After restart, computer would not load the administrator account. Had to
perform a system restore in safe mode, which resolved the problem. Have been
installing updates successfully since then.

Now, Windows Live Messenger will not log in, receive erro that not connected
to interent, which is false. Also, cannot log into hotmail through msn.com,
receive error that the server is unavailable. Know this is false.

Tried connection troubleshooting, verified Internet Options in IE8 (SSL
2.0,SSL 3.0), turned off firewalls and antivirus programs, still no success.
When attempted registry key resets, the wintrust.dll was found "...but not
recogized" error code 0x80070005. Registry Key initpki.dll gave an error
saying it failed to load.

I had to disable the 'sleep' mode altogether, as it made my power supply go
into a coma of sorts. It was necessary to detach the unit completely,
luckily I had a spare and 'sleep' or 'hibernate' would cause the same
effect, that is, won't come back without full detached power-off first.
Same on my other PC built at the same time (same PS), and an HP laptop. I
can only assume that power management has quietly changed in the past three
years, when I built and bought the computers-in-question. When I disabled
'sleep' mode - not the same as allowing the hard drive etc. to do so - this
problem went away. In the absence of anyone else posting this problem I
decided that I'd solved the problem for now and that when cometh the
inevitability of new builds/laptop, it would likely cease to be a problem.
Unless of course there's something in Windows 7 and its Power Management
that's at fault here. But again, in the absence of complaints...

There was also the problem introduced to 'some' PCs by a recent update,
causing pundits to coin the 'new' term Black Screen of Death. Haven't had
that one! HTH.

Greetings,

This error code means something is wrong with of the components Messenger is trying to load.
A simple re-install of Messenger might fix this for you, if you haven't already tried it. To
do this, head over to the Programs and Features or Add or Remove Programs in the Control
Panel, find Windows Live Essentials and uninstall from there. Then just head over to
http://download.live.com/messenger to reinstall.

I have the same problem. I'm on windows 7, 32 bit, MSI laptop.
My windows live keeps signing out with the same message as yours, but only
if I am in any groups, and only with the internet at my house.
I've tried reinstalling.
Does your problem resolve itself if you delete any windows live groups you
are in?

Hi again,
With some experimenting, I've realized that the problem only happens when
I'm Online. If I'm Appear Offline, then the problem goes away.
