Win7 IE8 Drag and Drop text dysfunctional

Is this a known problem that will be fixed?
At the moment dragged text from low integrity (protected mode) IE8 can't be
dropped on a medium or high integrity target.
At least on Vista, IE8 does make the leap to medium integrity possible after
responding to a popup prompt.
This issue breaks intended use of our products.
