Win7 - WLM has to be sync-ed to get mail

WLM in Win7 will not automatically retrieve mail from the server when
started. Instead the retrieval process has to be started via sync, from
tools. I run a dual boot system (Vista/Win7 - 64bit) & WLM works perfectly in
Vista.
Is there something I am not doing right that is causing this problem, please?

Tools | Options | General Tab. Is: Send & Receive messages at startup
checked?

Tools, Options, is "Send and receive at startup ' checked?
