Win98SE on XP Pro: Printer Driver Workaround?

It never ceases to amaze, there is invariably a new issue which arises on a
regular basis, and I need to come back to the well here looking for help.

I have been happily running an old version of EZ CD Creator on my Virtual PC
(Roxio never made its software back compatible, and I had a load of cd tray
inserts in a format which otherwise was irretrievable), works fine under
Windows 98SE on my Dell Vostro XP Pro system.

An old printer of mine died, but the new Canon Pixma ip4600 does not have
available Windows 98 drivers.

I am afraid that the answer will be...out of luck unless I get a different
printer which has Windows 98 drivers...but thought I'd at least ask if there
were any possible secret workarounds on this.

Thanks in advance as always to those who help others with these questions.

Peter

No problem.

Does the manual for your printer list any emulation modes? Sometimes
printers emulate older printers and you can use the old printer's
driver.

357 pages, alas, no emulation mode.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I thought maybe there was some sort of trick workaround, but I guess Windows
98 is Windows 98!
