Hi All! I've got this problem after installing SP2. My computer is having
restarting of booting up after SP2 is installed. Its says at starting up that
there seem to be a problem or conflict of some sort. Says that a hardware or
software i have recently installed has caused this problem. Promt to ask if
it should restart in safe mode with or without networking, start in the
previous/ last setting that my computer works or to start normally. However
none seem to work. It'll keep restarting itself until timed-out, and it just
goes on and on and on until after sometime when it can finally do start it.
The shortest time i have waited is 1/2 an hour and longest is 2 hours after
which i just couldn't wait any longer and when to sleep. One more thing is
that i have downloaded my SP2 via auto-update and while it was downloading, i
had gone Window update website and downloaded it again. Means i downloaded it
twice. Is this the cause of my problem?? Any of you out there reading this
have the same problem i am having? Please advice me if you have a solution to
my problem. Your help and comment is appreciated. Thanks for reading!

The endless reboot problem can be caused by many things.
Can you boot into "safe mode"? If so you have much
better options. You might want to list your PC
configuration here: processor, motherboard, graphics
board, etc. I had the same problem on an AMD64 system
and it turned out to be a certain driver that offended
the new DEP feature. I was able to resolve by removing
the offending software (or deactivating DEP). You many
have similar or very different problem. Browse this
board for similar issues and you will gain some insight.
At any rate, if you can boot into safe mode you can at
least use system restore to get you back to your
previous, working, configuration of Windows (SP1?). That
was my starting point. Good luck!
