Window error code 80073712

Unable to search for new Vista updates error code 80073712. Has anyone ever
had this problem? Any solution?

The "Windows Features" dialog box is empty in Windows Vista, or you receive an error
message that includes the following code when you try to use Windows Update: "0x80073712"

80073712 - ERROR_SXS_COMPONENT_STORE_CORRUPT.

Windows Update file corruption.

Delete the file pending.xml under C:\windows\winsxs

and/or

Reinstall the Windows Update Agent
