Window live messenger 8.1 installation errors

Attempting to install windows live messenger 8.1. Error message received
"bootstrap exe-ordinal not found The ordinal 730 could not be located in the
dynamic link library SHELL32.dll." My operating system is windows 2000.

Greetings Tim,

Windows Live Messenger 8.1 works on XP and Vista only. You'll need to use MSN Messenger 7.0
on Win2k.
