My WLM8.5 is working normally until i use a third party software call apatch
to configure some stuff like removing nudge.

After patching it my WLM start to have error 80072efd..
I have try to troubleshoot it, but it not my firewall n proxy setting fault.

I try to reinstall the WLM 8.5 again, but it is useless and does not help.

Can someone help me out.

Thank you.

Greetings,

Although A-Patch doesn't have a completely clean record of not breaking Messenger
occasionally, I don't recall any specific instance where it caused a connectivity problem -
plus, if you've already done a uninstall/reinstall/repair of Messenger, you have the original
executable back now anyway.

Since it was working prior to A-Patch, this could be the result of a third-party firewall
(not the Windows firewall) noticing the change to Messenger and blocking what it believes as
a new application by default. If you do use a third party firewall application, you may want
to manually re-add Messenger to its allow list.

There's some other things that can cause this problem, but given how you've described it I'm
not entirely sure they're valid. However, if you're still having problems, I'd suggest you
do a System Restore just to make sure Windows hasn't been changed or damaged in some way. If
you're using Windows XP, you can find System Restore by going to Start, then Help & Support,
and then 'Undo changes to my computer using System Restore'. Under Vista you can get to
System Restore by clicking the Start button, typing in System Restore and clicking the option
when it appears. In either case, simply choose a restore point on a recent day/time when you
knew Messenger was working.

What information must be given in the firewall entries? Actually all my
messenger entries are "allow". Do we need a new specific entry? It's a pity
we cannot add screenshot to the chat it would be more "visible"
