Window Movie Maker keeps crashing.

im trying to make a video and then wen im finished, i try to publish it to my
desktop and it crashes everytime and it comes up with this DEP thing and its
not helping, can someone help me with this problem.

It does the same for me if I have the "Axis media control" installed for
viewing Axis web cams. If I uninstall the Axis control it works fine.

I get the same problem. Looking forward to hearing the solution!

It is likely that there is a problem with your original source files. Have

I'm having the EXACT same problem and I'm using an .avi file that plays
perfectly on Windows Media Player.

yeah I have a similar problem I try making a movie but it crashes about 40
times, it just wont work it used 2 but in the past week this has happened

What are the results of WMP's Help:About:Technical Support Information menu
tool?

I'd bet you have a bogus codec installed that is tromping upon memory, but
it's hard to know what that is without getting more specific data about the
DEP event.

This implies that you have a broken third party codec on the system. What
codecs are listed in Movie Maker's Tools:Options:Compatibility menu?

A similar thing is happening to me only I didn't get as far as you did. I
tried to make my movie and it gave me grief. And it wasn't anything copy
protected or anything like that, either.

I gave up on WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER, I couldn't get it to work.

I hate VISTA. Life was so much easier before all these Microsoft-mandated
"improvements." I wish they'd get things right before they charge us a
fortune to impose crap on us.
