Window Size and Position

How do I get Vista to remember my individual folder's Size, Position,
and View settings? I have "Remember each folder's view settings"
checked, but it seems to do absolutely no good. When I reopen folders
windows has completely forgotten it's position, size, and view setting.
This is giving me constant daily aggravation, and I'm about to go back
to XP, or just start over with Linux entirely.

Folder Option settings are:
Use Windows classic folders
Open each folder in it's own window
Double Click

Not listing all the view settings unless it's absolutely necessary.

Greetings from "old" Europe!
Follow the link http://www.ptorris.com/outils.php for FixExplorer.
It's a small program which works very well and fixes the "lack of memory" of Vista.
It's in french (nobody's perfect) but does the job correctly.
Sure this will help

"Old" is what our friend "Rummy" (Rumsfeld, former secretary of state of George W. Shrub Jr. called Europe.
Where is he now? Dumped into the waste basket of History?

I edited the registry using the tips provided in the link. My reg did
not have a DWord value at all, not even 5000, so I had to make one.

My OS is forgetting folders at about the 10-15 count, not 5000. I hope
20k is enough.

I appreciate the help, this has been incessantly driving me crazy for
months, and with all the little pestering problems I am having with
Vista piling up, I'm at my wits end with this OS. This was quite a
convoluted solution to a problem which shouldn't even exist in this OS.
