had a few problems with my firewall and this new update program...

hope that helps... there are a few other posts around with this same problem.

Ethan.

If you are using Windows XP SP2 then ensure that the BITS service (i.e
Background Intelligent Transfer Seervice) is set to Automatic and is Started.

Error message when you try to install updates from the Windows Update Web site on a
Windows XP-based computer: "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the
requested page"
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=914226

If you have any of these programs, they can affect Windows Update:-
Download Accelerator, GetRight, Browser Blaster, BitTorrent, eMule, Sygate Personal
Firewall, Norton Internet Security, Freedom Firewall, Zone Alarm Firewall
