window update failing??!

for some time now, in the right hand corner of my screen av been getting the
update icon (yellow shield) popping up. i have a update for "microsoft core
sevices xml....". i install it, when shutting down i get told an update is
occuring, which is normal, what isnt is that i keep getting this update
appearing like i haven already installed it. even though its been updated
"successfully" the update icon wont stop appearing! while am typing this av
had pop up 3x! av click install update but i dont no why it keeps asking me,
am thinking its not updating properly at all!

Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2
(KB936181) may repeatedly appear in the update list on Microsoft Update
or on Windows Update

First, download and *save* the update from the link on the above page.

Then boot to Safe Mode and rename msxml4.dll from a Command Prompt, as
shown in the KB article. Reboot and then install the download,
msxml4-KB936181-enu.exe/
