Window update failure: 8007F0CC

Having started Windows update it recommends a ~75MB part of SP2. Accepting
the default method the EULA widows normally pops up. Clicking the Accept
window preparation starts but shortly the process stops. The failure cose is
8007F0CC. I could not locate this failure code in any of the three location
that is recomennded to search.
Can somebody give a hand?

Some reports of the problem in the BOOT.INI file.
You can see and edit the boot.ini file from the control panel
\system\advanced\starup button or use notepad . better make a backup copy of
it before doing anything
