Window Update not working properly receive error code 0x80070424

I try to get window updates since 21 Dec. 2004 all msn support is doing
telling me I have spyware problem so I brougth and install spybot so I would
not have the security problem. I keep trying for windows update as today and
still get same error code. Call compa about it they say it is in the software
problem and the warranty for the software is expire. So what is someone
suppose to do when somebody data is stolen is there some kind of help for us
as msn customs can receive to fix this DAMN problem. The only good thing
about this problem is I'm learning about computers in depth

0x80070424 - ERROR_SERVICE_DOES_NOT_EXIST
Due to a bug in BITS 1.5 OOB setup, after BITS 1.5 install, the BITS service is
deleted, but the 1.5 install returns success code. BITS 1.5 binaries are copied to
the machine, but the service doesn’t exist. This can also happen if the BITS service
is explicitly deleted by running the command sc delete bits



There are two things you can try:-

See if this helps::
1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type (or copy/paste from this post)
regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll (note the space there in the middle)
4. Click OK.

After the regsvr32 command, start regedit.exe
and locate the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\wuauserv

If you find a DeleteFlag value there, delete the DeleteFlag value.

I fix the problem this will help everyone I hope go to homepage click on
upgrades and download item named Webroot Spy Sweeper forMSN and this will
solve error codes and it is free and your windows update will work and there
is 3 critical downloads you for your pc and the Auto update working also if
this helps e-mail ok at and happy surfing

Sucess! Spy Sweeper did the trickfor me. What cookie or adware that was
causing the problem is unknown. I tried to find it by process of elimination
by reinstalling each of them, without sucess. It is possible that available
window updates that were immediatly downloaded, prevented the 0x80070424
error to reoccur.
