Are Window updates saved on your computer?

When you download and install Window updates on your computer are the
downloaded updates saved on your computer? I'm on a modem and would like to
save the updates in case I have to reload the original software. Having the
updates saved would cut down on the time required to reload the Updates. If
they are saved on the computer do you have to do anything special to save
them and then reinstall them?

Thanks

They are temporarily stored on the computer, if you're using WinXP under the
softwaredistribution folder "downloads". These are cleared in about 10 days.

If you want to save updates for the future -
You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what
you want, Click the “Go To Download Basket” link. Type in or browse to the
location where you want the updates saved to and then Click the “Download
Now” button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.
