window vista display setting

i am running window vista and i am the admintrator of my pc .. i am trying to
set power setting as to when my display turns off , i do put the time and set
it up and save my setting but it doesnt work still ...like i set my display
to turn off in 5 mins i set it to that time but it doesnt get turned off
after 5 mins, any help in this area as to what to do please???? would be
appreciated . thank you

Go to the manufacturer's website for your video card and download the latest
driver.

Also, if you are using a microsoft wireless mouse, there is an optional
windows update that fixes a conflict with it that prevented hibernation and
screen saver from being activated. Install the Optional Hardware Update that
is named Microsoft HID Non-User Input Data Filter from the microsoft update
site. It solved my problem.
