window vista update failure message and error code 80244019

When I try to get an update to windows defender,
I get the following error code 80244019.

I am new to Windows Vista and some help would be appreciated.

Prior to having this issue, I did successfully download 5 other
windows vista updates.

Hi,

I ahve had this issue on my Windows Vista Ultimate. Try this:
- In your services, stop Windows Defender Service
- Rerun the updates

This has worked for me.
