Hello! I'm running 8.1.0178 and I have got my Windows Live Messenger into a
"windowed" mode somehow and I would like it to be in the "non-windowed" mode
(how it looks in the screenshots for the product.

I have looked through all options many times and CANNOT find anything!
Please help! What I mean by "windowed" mode is that there is a blue boardered
box around my main window (and message windows) with the regular three boxes
in the upper right hand corner, with minimize, maximize and close buttons. I
have tried uninstalling and restarting, and then reinstalling but it did not
help.

Please help, this is driving me absolutely nuts! I don't understand why this
is so freaking hard to change!!!

Thanks much!
Stella

Top right hand side just under the X there is a tiny arrow in a square.
Click that.

Actually, there is none there, I know what you are talking about though. My
close minimize maximize buttons are on the top blue bar (like any other
Windows window), and not in the area where the logo is. I actually have a
full "File, Contacts, Actions, Tools, Help" bar.

Do you have your messenger window maximised to screen size?? I just noticed
on mine that if its maximised the small arrow in the box ( the Hide the menu
bar button) is not visible. Try restoring down ( the middle square button)
the button should be in the blue on the oposite side from the messenger
logo.

Well, no, I'll repeate myself again: there are NO icons that say to hide/show
the taskbar. The close, minimize and maximize buttons are in the same
position as every other Windows box, i.e. they are NOT in the blue area by
the logo, they are ABOVE it.

PLEASE SEE THIS: screenshot of my msn 8.1.0178 at

I need to get the "Toolbar" off of it and restore it to it's original
"look". Can't anyone help?
