As of today 7/9/2008...my windows 2000 machines can not login to my
windows XP or windows XP x64 machines. Updates got installed last
night and that was the end of this working.

Not sure what broke it. The windows XP x64 to windows 2000 direction
still works.

I tried uninstalling the one security update with the DNIS issue from
one of my windows XP x64 machines and rebooting both it and my windows
2000 box. No affect.

Any ideas, Thanks,
David

Hi Quincy -

Are you using Zone Alarm Firewall? If so, one of the updates - KB951748 -
conflicts with it.

If you have ZA installed, you can refer to this link at the Zone Alarm site:

http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/b...ssage.id=52860

(If you're not using Zone Alarm, then I dunno what it might be)

good luck!

No Zone Alarm firewall. And not related...but windows XP firewall is
off as well. Firewall protection comes from my router.
Might it be a missing update on the windows 2000 side.

Ok I got this to work...on the windows XP x64 box the guest account
needs to be enabled. That is what windows 2000 seems to be determined
to use for it's mapped connection. Sorry nothing to do with updates
here...
