Windows 2000 Server Installation Failed

I'm trying to run Windowsupdate on two of my Win2k servers. I can scan the
machines and see the new updates on the web site, but when I try to install
them (there are three criticals I'm trying to install), they all fail. They
download fine, but don't install. I am an administrator on the server and
have tried to download them individually and installing, but the
installations fail even then. Are there some required services or
permissions that I need to have in place for this to work? Thanks.
