Windows 2000 Server Update

Hello,

i can´t make an update from the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. So i open the
Internet Explorer and then i start the update from Microsoft
(Extras->Mircosoft Update). The Site will loaded but she stops by the Site
the aktuel Version of Windows .... The Internet Explorer hang up.

So what can i do???

Were the automatic windows updates in place.Can you help us in knowing as
to if you have installed any new application sometime from when you have
been encountering this error,
