Windows 2000 update gives Invalid license response

After having some system problems I decided to do a full system restore
(using the win2k backup/restore pgm). I restored from a backup that was only
2 days old. After completing the restore, I attempted to check for updates
and the MS Update site said that my copy of Windows was invalid -- that the
license number had been tampered with. I own a legitimate copy of the OS.
What is going on and what can I do about it?

Thanks!

Dwight
