Sorry, but if you did not receive an authentic, genuine, Microsoft 2003
Enterprise 2003 CD with your used computer, you do not have a legitimate
license to use the operating system. The trial version is of no use to you.

| Hi,
|
| Hope you guys can help.
|
| I have purchased a Server with Windows 2003 Enterprise Server already
| loaded. I needed to change some settings that required the OS CD which I did
| not have, so dowloaded the trial ISO image from MS. This allowed me to make
| the chages I required, but it doesn't let me update as it can't authenticate
| it as legitimate.
|
| The OS was already activated when i purchased the server, but not sure if
| the online update worked as i didn't try it before i made the changes.
|
| The Validation report states that the ActiveX control encountered an error.
|
| I'm not sure if this is a problem with the ActiveX/IE setup or a conflict
| with using a trial version of the i386 from the CD to make changes to the
| legitimate version of the OS already installed.
|
| The CD Key reported as active for the machine is different from that from
| the email sent when i ordered the trial software.
|
| Many thanks in advance for any thoughts/comments and assistance
