I just installed a new server based on my company's standards which has not
approved Windows 2003 SP2 for use on the network yet. I installed from a
copy of Windows 2003 Standard with SP1 slipstreamed in. After the
installation completed, I went to Windows Update to download the 50+ post-SP1
Windows Updates that used to be available but now they no longer show up.
The only updates that appear are Windows 2003 SP2, IE7 and the March version
of the malware tool. Why are the post-SP1 updates no longer available? Not
every company immediately approves new Service Pack releases without rigorous
and through testing. Your removal of all previous updates barely a week
after the SP2 release shows a total disregard for every other company's
practices but your own.

First of all this is not Microsoft. It is a peer to peer newsgroup. Secondly 2 days ago when I went to Update a new install of W2K3 with SP1 all updates (62 of them) including SP2 was still available on the Windows Update site

I suggest you check it again then buddy before assuming I'm the idiot. The
Windows Update log file shows:

Update {GUID}.100 is pruned out due to potential supersedence

It says this dozens of times with the {GUID} of course being the GUID for a
different update which is now superseded by Windows 2003 SP2 so they are no
longer available.
