Its been downloaded but when trying to install immediately comes back saying
failed to install.

I would like to delete the downloaded file and try again in case it was
corrupt.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

We bought a Dell PowerEdge 2800 pre-installed Windows 2003 with SP1. But The
software we bought is not compatible with SP1. Is there any way to unload SP1
from integreted Windows 2003?

Format and Reinstall from a non-SP1 CD.

Not legal, Shenan....

Since it's a Dell OEM pre-install server, it /must/ be installed with OEM
licensed media.

Unless Dell is including RTM media in these kits.... it's not an option.
Unless James' employer wants to kick up the funds for a /retail/ copy of
WinServer2003 sans service pack (assuming one is even available in the channel
anymore).

The /best/ fix is to find out from the software vendor why their package is
not compatible with a SERVICE PACK, and then jump up and down on their
doorstep until they give you a FREE fix.

The next best fix is to demand a refund for the product, and buy the
equivalent application from a vendor that /can/ produce working applications.

Actually - if they have an OEM version of the Server OS - they can use the
Dell CD Key and install with the other OEM CD. That is perfectly legal - as
it is not the CD - but the CD Key - that matters.

Also - I left how they would do so "hanging" - as they could easily have
another copy of Windows Server 2003 lying around unused (retail) and could
use it and its CD key instead of the one that came with the system.

However - their best solution (as you stated) is to make the manufacturer of
the software that doesn't work fix their broken code.. Which they will
likely have to do anyway at some point if they plan to keep selling it.
