I have a server at my home, based on an older Abit mainboard, KT7A with
1.4Ghz Athlon cpu and 1Gb RAM. The "C" drive is a striped array made
up of 2 - 4Gb drives for a total of 8Gb. I also have a second array
comprised of 4 - 120Gb drives for a data drive. Win 2K3 Enterprise
installed cleanly, was able to all Windows updates, but the Svc Pack 1
install fails. I will get messages that it can't copy a file, but you
browse to it and it is right there where it should be. Leave it sit a
few minutes, then click Retry and it moves on, then eventually gets
stuck at a new file that it "can't read". So, I downloaded the Svc
Pack by itself and try to run it, it starts extracting, then shows
"File Corrupt" message. There are over 4 gigs available on the "C"
drive, so space cannot be the issue.
Any ideas? I tried it first with a single 4Gb drive for the system
disk, but had the same issues. Thus the striped array idea.
