A service pack does not depend upon the domain controller that supports it. No,
you do not need to deploy Service Pack 1 on the domain controller first.
Please try the installation again of Service Pack 1, and reply back to this
posting with the entries from the log: svcpack.log, located in the %windir%
directory. To find this, just:
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type: notepad %windir%\svcpack.log <Enter>
4. Scroll down to near the part where it failed.
5. Copy and paste the section where it starts to fail, including where it first
hit an error related to the failure, so that we can get a better idea and
troubleshoot it more deeply--into a reply to this posting.
