Windows 7 AD problem

Frustrating issue here:

I have a windows server 2003 AD infrastructure.

I Windows 7 as my company computers.

I have 1 user (user A) that, when logged into the network, loses control of
his screen when user B starts typing.

I have made sure that IPs are not conflicting. I have created different
accounts for both of them but still keep having the same bad luck. It is
causing user A to not be able to work because whenever user B is typing an
e-mail it literally takes control of user A's screen and starts typing into
whatever program he has open.

I have never seen nor heard this before and have no clue why it's only these
2 users.

Any ideas?

Hello mem2382,

Sorry i can not really follow you whar does "loses control of his screen
when user B starts typing"? Do they work on one computer or on a Terminal
server? Please be more specific.

Best regards

They work on 2 seperate latpops that are on the same network.

Not using Terminal server for either of these two users.

It's really random when this does happen. I have checked the logs and
nothing jumps out at me.

Hello mem2382,

With different machines and different user accounts there can be no relationship
with the problem. Both work on a local computer and the user account isn't
able to do anything to the other machine.

Are the computers both fresh installed or created from an image that isn't
sysprepped?

Best regards

A guess:

They're using wireless keyboards and they're both using the same channel.

Meinolf,

Left out one important piece of info...These aren't local computer accounts.
They are using roaming profiles.

I still don't see how this would cause this issue but who knows.

They are both using wireless keyboards.

They are 100 ft apart which seems like a fair amount of distance and
everyone else in the office is using wireless keyboards.

How would I switch the channel?

Re-associate the devices - usually there's a button on the receiver and
a button on the keyboard/mouse marked 'Connect'

Press the button on the receiver to get it ready to associate with a
device, then press the connect button on the keyboard. Repeat for the
mouse if necessary. Do the same on the other workstation.

100ft does seem like a lot, but it's the most likely explanation if
they're using wireless keyboards.

Nice . If you have a lot of wireless devices in the office you might end
up using the old wired keyboard and mouse.
