Does any one know of a windows 7 newsgroup that deals with keyboard bugs. I
have an intermittent problem with my keyboard since upgrading to Win 7. I
will be able to type fine and then the keyboard becomes garbled. If I type
an "A" another character appears. It goes away when I reboot only to
re-appear later. Have no idea what is going on.......JFidler

Hi, Jane.

You might want to try:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...rdware_devices

Be sure to tell them the make and model of your keyboard - or of your
computer if the keyboard came with it.

Maybe you switch to other kbd layout or even language.
Please check your installed layouts, switching hotkeys and so on.

Have you got a spare keyboard on another computer nearby perhaps? It's the
best way to check to see what's failing on the hardware front.

Perhaps changing the repeat speed setting in Control Panel.Keyboard, and see
what happens. Or remove the keyboard driver and let it reinstall, and
check. You didn't say which keyboard it was: regular 102-key or specialized
ala the "Media Center" keyboards etc.

On the darker side you could have a keystroke-bound virus onboard. It
always pays to do full scans anyway, spyware included.

I vaguely remember seeing that symptom. IIRC it happens
with an unlikely set of options and so would just be regarded
as an amusing quirk with a known workaround--don't do that
--whatever it is. ; )

IOW try reversing whatever settings you were experimenting with. <eg>

Good luck

Thx. There are still 20 of 'em running around - they're attracted by some
hazelnut trees on the property as it turns out.

I haven't ever seen any partridges at Westgate. Not before, or after, the
Montgomery Wards building was demolished.

No, not Kansas City MO - where I used to live prior to 64, near the Ward
Parkway - Westgate in Devon, UK.
