Windows 7 (KB974431)

Cant install KB974431.
At reboot (as the update requires) it says that it cant be installed and
goes back.
Using Win7 Swedish, so hopefully some swede is reading this. As this is an
important update, i really need a clue what to do or if anyone else have the
same prob.
Heres what Win tells me (in swedish), so for you non-swedes use google

What happens if you manually download and install the one you need for
whatever version of Windows 7 you have?

I got the same problem with my laptop, running win7 build 7600 x86 but was activated by replacement pkeyconfig.xrm-ms ( C:\Windows\System32\spp\tokens\pkeyconfig ) and tokens.dat ( C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\ Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\ ) by files in build 7100 or build 7064 RC version.

The update failed after restart windows.

After work arround, i found the way to fix, hope it will be helpful for you if you're using cr**k-activation version of win 7:
- You should re-copy the original files of win7 build 7600 to the folders above.
- Run update again, it will be successful.
- Re-activate windows by an RC key.

Actually a sfc /scannow and reinstall of wuagent helped me.
