Windows 7 Migration Import affects IE8

I installed Windows 7 without issue. IE8 was working fine.

I imported my profile that was exported using Vista version of Easy File
Transfer (I could not get Windows 7 migration wizard to run under Vista.)
Profile appeared to import correctly. However, IE8 stopped displaying
pages. I was getting page not found errors.

I was able to VPN into my companies Network. When I did, IE8 started
working again. When I closed the VPN. IE8 stopped displaying pages.

Any ideas on what to look at would be appreciated.

Metro.
