Windows 7 RC 1

I have been having one trouble after another with Vista Home Premium and
couldn't seem to get the problems resolved.

A few weeks ago I downloaded Windows 7 RC 1 and decided to give it a try.

I installed Win 7 as an upgrade and it brought everything over without a
problem.

It took some hours for the installation to complete. I kept my fingers
crossed and fired it up.

To make a long story short; Win 7 is what Vista should have been. Except for
a few minor glitches this OS represents
a great advance by Microsoft.

For those who might be having problems with Vista you might want to give Win
7 RC 1 a try.

If it continues to perform the way it has so far I'll be in line to buy the
released version when it is available.

I have an HP 17" laptop with 2 gigs memory and a 250 Gig HD. Also have an
300 gig external HD I use for backups. Acronis True Image has handled the
Win 7 backups without a hitch.

You have a cognitive problem. His advice is to Vista users.

<snip>

Dude, it's completely related. He talked about Vista and that he has had
problems with it, (Not unlike MANY others), decided to try Win 7 and is
so far happy with it. So what's YOUR problem? Try helping, adding
comments etc, rather than playing "Net Nanny." ...Now for my.02 worth..

While I have had a good experience with Vista Ultimate compared to other
people, I too have had a few issues with it, but not severe like many
others, just little things. I did the Win 7 beta testing and still had a
few issues but nothing to write home about. After all, it was a beta,
and one should expect issues, that's the whole point of testing. With
Win 7 RC, I had to laugh out loud after installing it. The beta at least
recognized my video and installed the appropriate driver, while
completely missing the well known and used sound driver. No big deal, I
just had an extra step to complete is all. With Win 7 RC it missed BOTH
sound and video and was using generic drivers! ROFLMAO Still, no big
deal, I just installed the proper drivers and all is well. So far it
ROCKS compared to Vista. I am setting it up as close to my Vista
installation, (On the same machine but 2nd HD), as possible for a real
world comparison. It's kicking Vista's A** hands down. You Vista lovers
just need to concede, accept reality, and move on. I'll be purchasing a
copy of Win 7 when the final is released for sure, and trash-can Vista
with no regrets. ..Well, except for the mega $$'s already spent on a DUD!

G'day
