Windows 7 Screen Resolution Issue

Windows 7 power saving feature puts the system to sleep after a certain
period of idleness. This is fine, but in doing so it also seems to reset my
screen resolution from the recommended 1980 x 1080 to a much lower
resolution resulting in much larger icons, type, etc. I can easily re-set
the resolution, but it doesn't seem like I should have to. Is there a way
to prevent this change? I've only had my new Windows 7 machine for a week
or so, but this has happened on several occasions.

For which video card and driver? FWIW a related symptom that I used to get
for my tablet and still do on full Restart is that the orientation of the
secondary screen was Landscape Flipped (because the unlit tablet happened
to be that). Getting a new driver has as I indicate partially solved the
problem and getting an even newer driver has given the symptom an
inconsistent twist--sometimes when it resumes the tablet is lit (in the
desired orientation) but I have to manually switch to the secondary. I'm
getting good at using the Win-D,Menu c,... keystrokes needed to fix these
cases, have even considered creating a keyboard macro for the most common
one. ; )

Try finding out if you have a newer driver to go to and see what new quirks
you get with it?

Good luck
