Could be a lack of free disk space, or insufficient space allocated to
system restore points.

not at all there are 37GB space in this driver and i have allocated 10% to
system restore and windows and etc only use 10GB so i really don't understand
what is causing the problem my computer is very old prescot C0 P4 2.8GHZ but
he's working fine so maybe windows 7 is heaving problems with my old hardware
because the hardware itself is fine and i didn't have this problem in winxp.

You could try turning it off then on [unchecking C: on the 'System
Protection' tab].

Your hardware sounds fine. I have it running in virtual machine with 1 gig
of ram assigned to it, so I doubt that's the issue.

Are you dual booting with XP?

If so, try disabling System Restore for the W7 drive (within XP).
