Windows 7 update error code 8007000D

I just tried running windows upodate from the Control Panel and the Website
and received an error 8007000D with the ever helpful message Windows
entountered an unknown error. I have a clean new install of windows, not
using the firewall or a proxy server. Any ideas?

8007000D - Error_invalid_data
