from windows 93se to windows xp

I want to install windows xp on my computer. I currently have windows 98se.
When I try to run the program or install using the disks (a:\setup.exe),
nothing happens or it says it cant find it. What am I doing wrong?

Start your computer and go to the Windows 98 desktop,
insert the Windows XP CD in the drive and the setup
menu will appear. When it does, select the default "Upgrade"
setup option. Do not select "New Installation".

I would recommend running the Upgrade Advisor first.
