Hi there, not a WU issue. I haven't got a Win98 computer handy but have you checked the advanced
dial up settings in IE-
In IE, Tools>Internet Options>Connections.
Highlight the connection and click Settings.
In Dial-up Settings click Advanced and check the box next to
"Disconnect when Connection may no longer be needed".
“Disconnect if idle for ……. mins”
Also check that the Hang up when finished box in Outlook Express has not been accidently checked as
this will automatically drop the internet connection when all of your messages have been
downloaded/sent - this happens to a friend of mine quiet regularly.
