Windows 98 Critical Update KB888113 shows up every time I scan, but
shows it's installed in the history.

I've installed this update in many similar machines on the same
network, with no problems.

I have one machine however, that shows the update is needed when I
scan from the Windows update page. Yet, Windows update history shows
i've successfully installed it 3 times.

Should I be concerned about this?

I don't suspect any viruses or spyware issues, but I will run another
Spyware scan.

The machine is running FireFox 1.01, has the Corporate Edition of
eTrust Anti-Virus (up to date), etc.

Run the free Belarc Advisor and examine its Win Updates section to confirm
that the Update is installed properly.

If so, ignore the new offering or hide it using the Personalize tool on the
WU Home Page.
