windows 98.ME help

I loaded the ME edition onto my windows 98 OS and ot loaded ok,when I
restarted the computer,I get the following message.Rundull.Error loading
%_sys_mod_path%,the system cannot find the file specified.I cannot open any
programs at all and when I try to shut down the computer the regular
way,start,it does nothing I have to turn it off with the on.off switch,please
advise
